Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which rose 4.35% or 0.14 points to trade at 3.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) added 4.35% or 0.09 points to end at 2.04 and Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) was up 1.97% or 0.05 points to 2.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which fell 2.31% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.11 at the close. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) declined 1.47% or 0.03 points to end at 2.01 and Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) was down 1.42% or 0.01 points to 0.83.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 69 to 48 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.69% or 17.40 to $2,555.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.15% or 1.60 to hit $76.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.71% or 1.33 to trade at $78.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 101.41.
