Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.06%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumption and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.06% to hit a new all time high.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:LREN3), which rose 4.12% or 0.73 points to trade at 18.43 at the close. Meanwhile, MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:MRVE3) added 4.00% or 0.30 points to end at 7.80 and Vale SA (BVMF:VALE3) was up 3.45% or 2.00 points to 60.05 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:SMTO3), which fell 3.29% or 1.00 points to trade at 29.40 at the close. Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3) declined 2.76% or 0.85 points to end at 29.90 and Dexco SA (BVMF:DXCO3) was down 2.75% or 0.23 points to 8.14.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 475 to 443 and 74 ended unchanged.

Shares in Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:LREN3) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.12% or 0.73 to 18.43.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.19% to 26.19.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 5.20 to $2,560.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.16% or 1.67 to hit $75.75 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.42% or 6.05 to trade at $255.70 .

USD/BRL was up 0.37% to 5.52, while EUR/BRL rose 0.40% to 6.15.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 100.46.
